February exercise challenge
Motivation is still pretty high to get out and have a healthy body and mind. Sunshine is helping.
What am I counting?
For reasons I haven’t quite decided why yet I record distance on recreational walks and running but not cycling (and obviously not yoga). I always record time taken & date. Sometimes I calculate average speed.
Activities
This is what I did…
What activities?
I got through:
That’s not too bad. 30 activities in 28 days.
Totals & averages
Exercising:
- Total miles: 51.64 miles.
- Down a bit from Jan which was 65.77 miles
- Looks like more cycling this month
- I did slightly take a chunk out of my heel this month from a Joe Wicks HIIT class. An obviously overly vigorous squat led to an encounter with a side table. This put me out of action for at least a week
- Average distance from running & walking: 4.3 miles (little bit down from last month. Blame Joe Wicks).
Time:
- Total time taken: 25.07 hours
- Up from last months 22.49 hours
- Did about 6 more bits of exercise than last month so pushed up the total time but lowering the averages
- Average exercise time: 50.13 minutes
- down from 56.23 minutes but not by much
What else?
Facts and figures:
- longest distance was 7.84 mile run
- lowest distance was 2.02 mile post work walk
- fastest run was 8.23 minutes per mile, a 0.03 improvement from last month… not exactly amazing but improvement is improvement
Perspective
Jonah Hill had a lovely post the other day that showed some grace when he could have easily gone all-in on the snark and fury. Living well is the best revenge.
What next?
Last month I tried to be less run-heavy. Well looks like I did that pretty well. I’d actually like to do more yoga next month and maybe a couple more HIIT’s. Try to get over the vicious attack by the furniture.
